Employee Appreciation Day – 4 Ways to Show Gratitude to Your Team

Employee Appreciation Day - 4 Ways to Show Gratitude to Your Team Work Shield Blog

With all of the changes to the traditional workplace over the past year, it’s important to ensure employees feel valued and appreciated in their current work environment. National Employee Appreciation Day is March 5, so there is no better time to show gratitude for your team’s hard work.

In honor of the holiday, we’ve rounded up four easy ways to show appreciation for your employees today and year-round!

#1 – Create an Intentional Avenue for Employee Shout-Outs

By providing a time and place for you and your employees to express gratitude, everyone will be more inclined to show thankfulness and appreciation for each other. Whether it’s in the first five minutes of internal meetings or through weekly communication on email or Slack, it’s important to find channels to celebrate employees regularly.

#2 – Leverage Your Company’s Social Media Channels

Giving individual shout-outs across your company’s social channels is a great way to showcase your team’s talent not only to the rest of the company, but also to clients, customers and beyond. For example, at Work Shield we publish a series on LinkedIn called #TeamMemberTuesday, where we spotlight an employee or board member each week. It’s an easy and impactful opportunity to consistently show off our amazing team and express our appreciation!

#3 – Provide a ‘Thank You’ Lunch or Coffee

Food and caffeine can go a long way! If your team is still working remotely, you can have a special lunch or their favorite coffee treat delivered right to their door through DoorDash or UberEats. If you’re in the office, surprise everyone with their favorite treats. This is a great tactic for birthdays, work anniversaries or holidays such as Employee Appreciation Day!

#4 – Create a Culture that Prioritizes Employee Advancement

One of the most impactful ways to show employees that you care is to create a culture that prioritizes career development and advancement. Through establishing mentorship programs, offering regular professional development, or identifying relevant conferences and networking events, you can help employees achieve their professional goals and ensure they feel valued and fulfilled in their career.

At Work Shield, we believe that employees are a company’s greatest asset. To learn more about how you can protect your company culture and create an environment where employees feel valued and heard, contact us here
