At Work Shield, our commitment to making a positive impact doesn’t stop at our workplace doors. We believe in extending our values of respect, commitment, collaboration, innovation, and success to the wider community. It’s with excitement that we introduce our latest endeavor: the “Work Shield Cares Community Impact Initiative.”
This initiative was established to acknowledge causes that resonate with our team members on a personal level. We’re excited to provide a platform for our team to champion the causes close to their hearts and make a meaningful difference beyond Work Shield. Each quarter, team members will have the opportunity to nominate a non-profit or charitable organization that holds significance to them. Through a voting process, a recipient is chosen, and Work Shield follows through by making a donation to their selected non-profit or charitable organization.
One particular cause has already captured our attention this first quarter. Renee Harris, one of our own Investigation Team members, shared her family’s journey with lymphoma, from losing her father to her sister’s diagnosis. Inspired by Renee’s resilience and determination, we’ve decided to dedicate our inaugural quarter to supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Big Climb, an event that symbolizes strength, hope, and solidarity for those affected by lymphoma.
Renee’s involvement with the Big Climb isn’t just a one-time effort; it’s a demonstration of her family’s continual commitment to the fight against cancer. Since 2019, Renee and her team, the “B-Team,” have been participating in the climb, raising over $75,000 for blood cancer research. Despite being a small friends and family team, the B-Team consistently ranks as the top fundraising team in Dallas, showcasing the power of collective action and determination.
Through Renee and the B-Team, we are reminded of the importance of community, resilience, and the impact of our actions. Our support for the B-Team as they take on the Big Climb on March 23, 2024 is about standing in solidarity with those affected by lymphoma and honoring the memory of loved ones lost to the disease.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures and ensuring access to treatments for blood cancer patients. They fund research, provide patient support services, and advocate for policies that accelerate the development of new treatments. They are on a mission to beat blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
The Work Shield Cares Community Impact Initiative is not limited to a single cause or event. It is a platform for all team members to have a voice in shaping the positive impact we make as a company on our community. Whether it is supporting local charities, volunteering for meaningful causes, or championing initiatives that promote social good, Work Shield is committed to making a difference.
